San Diego to El Paso
July 4 thru July ?
San Diego July 4-6
This was supposed to be a business trip. When Charlie passed away, Michelle's mom had 2 cars. She wanted to give one to Malia. The problem with living in El Paso is that they don't have a port to ship the car to. This make retrieving the car quite a challenge. There are a few options 1) is Dallas 2) is LA or San Diego 3) if you want to be more adventurous is Washington. When Malia's Jeep arrived in the states, it arrived in Dallas. Michelle drove the Jeep from Dallas to El Paso over 2 full days a total of 12 hours. Since Michelle's mom was shipping over a car we decided to pick it up in San Diego and drive back to El Paso. The plan was simple stay in San Diego for 2.5 days, 1 day in Phoenix, and drive back on the last day for a total of 4 days.
The trip started of smooth. El Paso Airport is a great airport. Once you park, getting to the gate is always like 15 minutes.
What's stupid is that there is no direct flight from El Paso to San Diego, which I don't get. We had to fly from El Paso to Phoenix first and then from Phoenix to El Paso. I'm not too fond of the Phoenix Airport. I have nothing against the system and the workers. Its more of the people arriving, they act like they are important which is annoying.
Meeting Uncle Gary and Dean for Lunch - July 5, 2023
I've tried to communicate with Uncle Gary the week before and we found a time to meet. Uncle Gary pick us up in his Tesla. We went to a Chinese Restaurant because Michelle wanted to eat dim sum. We tried to catch up over the hour and had great conversations. We had a great time catching up with Uncle Gary and Dean. I didn't know Dean got a job in LA and now is living there.
