Christmas Season 2017

December 23 - 25, 2017

Here we go! The 3 consecutive days of Christmas Parties starts today. This year the Nishikida party was at my mom's house in Waikele. I came early to cook the food, but miss the memo that the party started at 6pm. The food sat, but at least I was done. We were a little preoccupied about not having enough food, but we are like that every year for some reason. We had more than enough food as everyone brought a lot.

The evening went well. It was filled with activities and conversation. The only problem was that we didn't take pictures. It just didn't seem that it was going to take place.

We had good fun though, lots of laughter.

The Holiday parties kicked off with the OAG hiking group party. Aprille and Erik were hosting and they did a fantastic job. Like really good! They put a lot of thought into it.

All of us had a blast, it is a little difficult to explain. One of those things that you have to be there to experience it. I can't figure out why? One possibility is that we know each other so well and have spent so much time on the mountain with each other than it seems we understand all the cues. Like when you are with your spouse and you know what they are thinking, kind of like that.

Janice and Allison couldn't make it this year.

We started with the food and I believe we are getting better. Maybe because we added Jana to the event and she is the missing piece we needed to make a cohesive potluck. Ever since she joined, our potluck spread has gotten better.

Erik and Aprille came up with a Jeporady game and it was well put together. They spent hours and hours researching the OAG fb page creating answers. I did my lock game and got good reviews. Our final game was the saran wrap game and it has become a tradition. We were so tired from those games and we still had to open presents.

Erik bought an expensive ice cream cake, it was so good! By the time we knew it, it was 11:00pm. Our goal for the upcoming year is to hike more. I know we always say that, but I think it would be great for our group to bond.
