Eating & Drinking

Drinking & Eating

This was pretty much the purpose of our trip. The quality of drinks and meals were top notch in Vegas. Yeah, you have to pay a lot, which in hindsight we should have found coupons or discounts. But the food was the bomb, the drinking was the bomb. I have a description of what we ate and drank below.

Ku Noodle (SLS Hotel) - Ordered Lucky 12 [12 Siu Mai in 3 baskets featured pork and shrimp dumpling with gold flakes], Hakka Rice Pot [Pork Belly, Chinese Sausage, Earthy Mushrooms, finished table side], Sake Punch [Sake, Rum, Orange Juice, Lemon Juice, Lemongrass Syrup].

Summary: Gold flakes on dumpling felt special, eating gold is awesome. Hakka Rice Pot had crusty rice, which gave it a crunchy texture. Pork Belly was the best I ever eaten, it wasn’t seasoned or anything just mixed with the other stuff. Sake Punch was good and refreshing.

Price: $60

I Love Breakfast (Palazzo) - Both ordered I Love Bacon & Eggs Sliders [Burger, Gouda Cheese, Bacon Mayo, Bacon, Onion Straws, and Quail Egg]

Summary - Lunch here might have been better. Presentation looked awesome. Taste was average, description on menu sounded better.

Price: $35

-------------------------------------------

Carlo’s Bakery (The Venetian) - Ordered a Canoli

Summary - Michelle said it taste like a New York canoli. Since we’ve been married, Michelle has been looking for the perfect Canoli. They don’t have a good one in Hawaii, even at the high end restaurants. But at this Carlo’s Bakery, it was a good one.

Price: $4

-------------------------------------------

White Castle Burger (Near Harrah’s Hotel) - Ordered 2 basic sliders, no cheese.

Summary - It needed cheese, but burgers tasted like how it was suppose to. The bun is soft for a burger, other than the missing cheese the flavors were there. Best part was watching the grill cook make hundreds of burgers at one time.

Price: $3

-----------------------------------------

Flour & Barley (Linq Shopping District) - Ordered Gianna Pizza [fennel sausage, mushrooms, pine nuts] and Mushroom Pizza [truffle cheese, roasted mushrooms, tomato, arugula, and truffle oil], also order ceasar salad. Ordered a beer, can't remember the name.

Summary - Good ingredients, but didn’t seem to be cohesive dishes. Ingredients individually tasted good. Finally ate a salad, missing the greens the past couple of days.

Price: $73

-------------------------------------------

Northside Cafe (SLS) - Ordered Carrot Cake Pancakes and Chilaquiles Verdes [eggs, fried tortilla, chili verde salsa, chorizo, and cotija cheese], coffee press.

Summary - Food was to die for. You have to order the two meals we ordered, was so good.

Price: $46

----------------------------------------------

Carson's Kitchen (Downtown) -

Ordered Bacon Jam (brie on bacon jam, baguette), Devil's Eggs (pancetta, caviar), Gyro Taco (lamb taco), Brooklyn Beer (lager)

Summary: Food was eccentric, tasted good, a contemporary atmosphere. It is a hole in the wall in Downtown Vegas.

Price: $75

------------------------------------------

Nathan’s Hot Dogs & New York Pizza (NY, NY) - New York Style

Summary - Hot dog was $5 which was too expensive. Pizza was excellent, bottom of pizza never got soggy.

Price: $20

--------------------------------------------

Le Cafe (Paris) - Ordered French Onion Soup, 1664 Beer, Stuffed Ravioli with Brown Butter Sauce, French Dip.

Summary: Probably our worst meal. It was average, nothing spectacular. Actually the ravioli was sub par. We were also full from Hofbrauhaus meal earlier in the day.

Price: $71

----------------------------------------------

Hofbrauhaus has a web page of its own.

Jean Philippe (Bellagio) - Ordered a Dulche de Leche Crepe and Pistacchio Gelato.

Summary - The 3 girls that sat near us sounded like London Tipton, that already was interesting to say the least. These desserts are amazing, interesting flavors. Not to mention the chocolate waterfalls that are at the entrance of the place, that was a spectacle in of itself.

Price: $15

Cafe Bellagio - Ordered for appetizer French Onion Soup and Ceaser Salad. For entree ordered Half Pound Angus Beef Burger and Filet Mignon.

Summary - Michelle’s meal was awesome. My burger lacked seasoning and they forgot the Bellagio Sauce (Horshradish mix). Overall we had a great dinner. Our server looked like Marvin, which was entertaining.
