Queen's Bath
Queen's Bath
Last time we were here, it was wildly popular. This time, it is even more popular. We went in the late afternoon about 2 hours before the sun went down hoping that there wouldn't be a crowd. Malia put this on her bucket list and she constantly ask to go here. We had to honor her request.
We entered Princeville, home of the millionaires and parked at the trailhead. We started hiking down to the shore. Lots of people were making their way up. It took us about 15 minutes to get to Queen's Bath. It wasn't anything like I remembered it to be. First, the tide was high and the water was entering the bath with a strong current. Second nobody was in the bath, maybe they were scared.
One guy jumped, so I was like I'm going in too. Malia always follows my lead and she followed me in. It was only two of us in the bath for about 10 minutes until more people jumped in. There were a handful of tourist with a southern accent, who I convinced to jump in and that they would be okay. There was a group of young adults, I would guess they were from Oahu because of how they acted. We Oahuan's have a particular style. The girls were really scared to go in. Malia made jump after jump, while the girls pondered whether or not to jump into the water. It was hilarious. We had a blast in Queen't Bath. I ask Malia did it live up to the hype? She said yes, but the waves were too rough.
I wanted to jump the rock at its highest point, but was a little scared. The guy who attempted the jump before me said he hit the rocks and it was sore. I lined up my jump and went for it. I nipped the rock with my butt, that was how close it was. People were worried about my safety, but I said I was okay.
I finally convinced Jared to go in. He had some help from the adult girls who still didn't want to go in, even after 1/2 hour of all of us going in. Jared jumped off the rock, I was proud of him. It takes a lot of Jared to do something like that, he doesn't have the courage. After about 1 hour, we left and hiked back up the hill. We took a side trip to visit a small waterfall. I tried to take silk, but didn't have my tripod. My pictures came out like shit.
It was fun. I could hang out at Queen's bath all day. Its a nice place.
