Anniversary Dinner

The week leading up to our 16th anniversary and we couldn't decide where we were going to eat. After some research we narrowed it down to two choices 1) DK Steakhouse 2) Arancino. After looking at both menus and reviews, we chose Arancino's at the Kahala. Michelle made the reservation, a late 8:30am dinner.

I was hung over from Thanksgiving when I drank an entire bottle of wine and a few beers. I was really feeling it, like shit. I spent all Friday 11/23 recovering and I did. We couldn't wait and decided to leave early, maybe we would hit traffic and that would stall time. We didn't hit traffic and decided to go to Kahala Mall to hang out. We talked about everything. It was a nice relaxing time.

After getting impatient, we headed to the Kahala and tried to check in early to Arancino, however there were so much people that we weren't able to get in. A wine tasting event was going on at the same time. The place was packed. After checking it out, we went to the beach. Finally at about 8:15pm, we got into Arancino. By then it died down. We were escorted to our table. Our waiter's name was Joseph he was interested in telling us a story, but I couldn't remember what he said. Michelle and I talked, we were intrigued about the meal being served to us. I ordered a 4 course because I wanted the parmesan risotto and Michelle ordered the 5 course because she wanted the uni pasta. The pictures do it justice. See below as I caption the pictures.

First course Pea foam with ham and caviar

Pea is light, Caviar was salty and didn't taste high end

Second course Lobster Bisque and Vegetables in a Pot with Anchovy butter

Lobster Bisque was rich and creamy, Vegetables in a Pot was an interesting experience, very fresh vegetables

Third Course Caprese and Meat Croquette

Caprese salad had fresh mozzarella cheese, Meat Croquette was made out of wagyu burger

Fourth Course Strip Steak and Parmesan Risotto finished in the cheese wheel

Strip steak had good flavor b/c it was finished in butter, First time I ate this type of risotto, it was very good

Fifth Course: none for me, but I have a pic of the bread. For Michelle her Uni Pasta

We had 3 servings of bread foccacia and whole wheat, the Uni Pasta had fresh noodles

Dessert Chocolate mouse pudding, Meringue, and Deconstructed Tiramisu

The chocolate dessert tasted like custard, the meringue was really good, my tiramisu was average
