Lichtenberg Castle

June 22, 2019

There was a medieval fair here today and so coming from Hawaii, we don't see too much medieval fairs. The medieval fair was in Lichtenberg Castle and went on throughout the weekend. The funniest story was driving here which was only 30 minutes away from Otterberg. I told Michelle to withdraw eruos because I felt there was no atm machine in the castle, she said everyone has an atm machine. We argued about that for a bit, but she was driving so. We got to near the castle and we had to pay for parking and we didn't have euros. After telling the guy we didn't have euros, he said ahhh, just go. Free parking!

At the same time we parked we met Michelle's co-worker Adriana and her family Larry, Nathanaiel and Marriane. Adriana had to pay for us because didn't have euros, how embarrassing.

I think I can go on forever about how much stuff was new to me, but I'll try my best to condense it.

It was very hot today, about 95 ° and very dry. I kept on drinking water, but in Europe you have to pay to go to the bathroom, so I had to hold it. I ain't paying a Euro to go to the bathroom. We walked around for a bit and decided to go eat lunch. What a great experience to eat lunch in a medieval castle! The castle restaurant had a bathroom, and it had air condition - 2 amazing amenities we take for granted. Michelle bought the most interesting dish, she bought a wild boar sausage, her stomach paid for it later, but during the time being, the food was good.

After the lunch, we went to this medieval playground, it had a seesaw. Wow, my kids get to play on a seesaw in a medieval castle, what more can you ask for in Europe.

Our final experience was going up to the watch tower. The staircase was dark and we went up many flights of steps, but after some huffing and puffing. The view from the top was amazing.

Fun time, I think my kids enjoyed it more. Pictures are below on some other stuff we did.
