Harper's Party
Harper's 1st Birthday - March 5, 2017
Ty and Kristen had a baby last year. Today was the celebration of Harper's first birthday.
The party was at 12pm in Waimanalo. We got ready at 11am and headed towards Waimanalo. Jared is in need for some nice party clothes as he only has a collar shirt that is too tight on him and his dress shorts do not fit him.
The drive to Waimanalo was far and we got there later than expected. But only half the party showed up, so we weren't too late. Unfortunately on this day, we had Ikaika's wedding at 3pm to catch a boat to an island, so we couldn't stay too long at Harper's Party.
Rain was in the forecast, but it appeared to be a beautiful day. There was this cool bubble station. The guy and probably his son was creating these massive bubbles so the kids could pop it. There was this italian cream soda station, Malia's heaven station, where she could create any drink she wanted. Finally, there was this ice cream station where kids could eat all the ice cream they wanted. My kids loved it. Just then, a passing torrential shower came coming down. But it passed.
Ty was cooking the food. During one of his breaks we talked story. He mentioned that they had fresh poke and poi which is always a winner in my book.
We waited for a while before we started eating. The food was excellent. It was a Hawaiian lunch. It was real local style even with tripe stew.
It was getting to that time where we had to leave. We couldn't stay to sing happy birthday, but I was able to check out the amazing spread of cookies and desserts.
The kids stayed with my mom while we headed towards Kualoa to Ikaika's wedding.
Ty and Kristen have their work cut out for them, maybe Harper will have a brother or sister in the near future.
