Hofbrauhaus

Hofbrauhaus

The Hofbrauhaus is a beer hall in Munich, Germany. Did you know that Mozart frequently visited the Hofbrauhaus and wrote some of his symphonies there? Did you also know that Hitler held many meetings to create policies and plan world domination at the Hofbrauhaus in the 1920s?

Today we went to the replica in Las Vegas. Its about 1 ½ miles off the Vegas Strip. Getting there was a little tougher than I expected. We caught the Deuce and transferred on the 202 to Paradise Road. From here, we could have gotten on the 108, but since we were only 0.6 miles away, we walked the rest of the way.

This place is huge! I think its only one story, the Germany Hofbrauhaus has 3 stories. The restaurant just opened at 11 am and it was for the most part empty. We were ready to order authentic German food. As like Oktoberfest in Hawaii, the female servers wore a dirndl, but they look like outfits similar to the girl on the St. Pauli Girl beer. There was this guy entertaining the crowd. He came to our table and had a huge 40 oz beer mug, he wished us a good meal. We had so much choices to choose from. Michelle turned me on to German food back in the early 2000s and now I’m hooked.

For appetizer we ordered the Obazter Classic featuring a mini pretzel, brie cream cheese, onions, veggies. I also ordered German beer Hofbrau an easy going lager. The German guy entertained us with music, he was very talented and must have felt good drinking that 40 oz alcohol which he finished in no time. For the entrees we had two of their most popular dishes, 1) Hofbrauhaus Wurstplatte which had 3 sausages, mash potatoes, sauerkraut, and mustard 2) Jagerschnitzel which had fried pork cutlet, creamy mushroom sauce, bacon and onions, and served with spaetzle.

The guy kept on entertaining, he went non stop while we were there. He started playing music on an alpine horn, the same horn used in those Ricola commercials. We finished up with the Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte a.k.a. Black Forest Chocolate Cake, that was the icing on the cake. We had a great German lunch at the Hofbrauhaus,

I ordered the huge 40oz German stein for a souvenir. We also took a nice picture in front of the Hofbrauhaus to keep the memory.
