Jared's Birthday

Jared's 8th Brithday - May 17, 2014

I don't believe we had a birthday party for Jared last year. I remember we bought Jared an xbox for his birthday. Since we live with my parents now, financially things are easier, so I decided to put aside some money and Michelle did the planning for Jared's birthday party. Since Quincy gave us some iTrampoline gift cards ($100), and we decided to take advantage of the opportunity and reserve the party area for Jared's Birthday Party. Jared invited primarily friends from his 2nd grade class at Mililani Waena Elementary. We set a date of Saturday May 17th. We wanted to invite family too, but that would cost too much money. For only 10 kids, the cost would be over $450. Michelle planned well and the preparation went very smoothly. I really didn't do anything, and really I would just be a burden because its the end of the year and things are busy right now at work.

The day started off early as I ran the Pineapple Run in Wahiawa with Darren. While I was running, Michelle waited in line at District Park trying to register our kids for summer fun, but the line was too long, so she went home. Darren and I finished in 1 hour and I sped home to take a shower and change. I felt somewhat tired, but had more than enough energy for the party.

The party started at 10:30am, but Michelle let everyone know to come early. We only had access to the trampolines for 1 hour, and then we would eat for 45 minutes before they started kicking us out. The kids had a blast jumping around for 1 hour. There are stations where kids can play different activities on trampolines. For some reason, the kids like the dodge ball game and spent primarily the entire time there.

I don't know how kids are able to jump on those things for 1 hour, but they are all a ball of energy. After our hour was up, we ate lunch. On the menu was Papa John's pizza with chicken poppers and buffalo wings. I've never seen kids eat so much so fast, they were hungry. We had some time to kill for the cookie cake, so we opened presents. Jared has a big personality around people. He showed so much excitement with every present he opened. After the presents, we ate Michelle's cookie cake. It was excellent! It was very soft, but the cookie was able to hold together well.

Our time had run out and we had to send everyone home. Jared mentioned that he had a fun party. Hopefully these pictures will provide memories for years to come.
