Solaire

Doing some spotty research, Solaire Hotel and Casino was built less than a year ago. They are not done yet, which makes me to believe that this hotel will be twice as bad ass as it is now. In the works is a Broadway Theater, retail shops, and more rooms. We only seen one shop and that was the Solaire rewards redemption shop. From the workers to the food (although some restaurants were too expensive), to the rooms. Really first class experience. Probably the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed at. Although the Marriot Couples Suite at the JW Marriot Iliahi at Ko'olina was just as good.

The Redemption Shop had Cuban Cigars. Jessica, Trey, and I smoked a Cuban which was a great experience for me since Cubans are illegal in the U.S. We didn’t buy the most expensive one, but got a good one worth about $30. It was a good cigar, probably the best I’ve ever smoked, but I’m not a smoker of cigars, so all I know is that it was better than any cigar I ever smoked.

Most of the casino games were slots and tables. I don’t play tables, so I wouldn’t know what was going on there. But there were no poker slots which was somewhat disappointing. However, some new slot games like the Wizard, Elvis, and Fishing were really fun to play. I don’t remember playing too much of them at Las Vegas in 2009, mainly just Lucky 7.

The rooms were first class all the way. The shower, bed, TV, view…it really was a great hotel!

We ate at the food court for all our meals. It was way cheaper. They also serve beer at the food court. Yay! There are foods from different cultures like American, Asian, Italian, etc. The desert kitchen was excellent. The pastries looked and tasted so good. The big problem was that the food court didn’t serve breakfast. We wanted to go to Fresh for breakfast, but at $50 per head, forget it. We just ate pastries at the food court instead.
