Grindstone Lake

Grindstone Lake
Grindstone Lake was about a 10 minute drive from the Hampton Inn. The lake is nice and the water is held by a dam. One thing you notice when arriving is that the area is very quiet. I'm not sure if it was because it was during November a non busy month. It was in the 50s when we started hiking. I wanted to contour the lake, but we ended up doing about 1 mile of the Canyon Loop. We notice that we were heading far from the lake so we turned around and got back to the lake. There are bears in the area, so I was a little preoccupied. No bears showed up. Since its fall, the area has changed colors with its yellow and orange.
The lake was a nice place to be at. It was quiet. People were fishing. Michelle and I sat on a bench and relaxed. It was nice to hang out there. I wasn't even cold. It felt good.
Hanging out near the lake might be one of the most relaxing and enjoying moments in life. I believe the reason is because there is nothing that can go wrong. Sitting there on a bench and watching still water with mountains in the backdrop is a very serene thing to do.
This was a great time to go to Grindstone Lake because it wasn't too cold, but yet wasn't hot. There weren't many people there and it was quiet.
