Brussels
August 20, 2019
If you look at all my cover photos of Belgium, they all look the same right? However, Brussels is by far the grandest and most prettiest. This city center is all right! I'm kinda torn on Brussels. We didn't get to see much because it was our last day and we had to drive to Otterberg, however there wasn't a whole lot that would be a considered a must see. We saw Manneken Pis Statue, the little boy pissing in the water, we at a Leige Belgium Waffle, and got to visit city square. Maybe some beer tasting, but I could experience that in Leige or visit the Grand Palace, other than that I think we did what we needed to do. I'm not sure you'll have to talk to Michelle about it.
Manneken Pis is a statue. I can't remember the movie. But it is a famous statue. When we got there, it was crowded, but not because of the statue, something was going on. Only a few people took pictures in front front of the statue, so you know me I'm doing it. Jared was being a sour puss again. He wanted to go after I took a picture of the statue, but we were going to explore and get another waffle.
The waffle stands were plenty in Brussels like multiple stands on every corner, and I believe they are all own by one person because they all have a similar set up. There's about 2 dozen different ways they dress the waffle and they are all fresh waffles not fakes. The bees were swarming sucking all the sugar out of the waffle toppings. We only bought 2 waffles, but the lady made a mistake so we got 3 waffles instead, SCORE!
Eating all these waffles in Bruge and Brussels makes me want to go on a diet. I seriously need to lose some inches of my waist. However, my weight is okay for now. Malia wanted to check out the anime store. We walked and walked until we hit Asian town or street. You could tell with all the Asian restaurants. After Malia bought her album, I wanted to get a few more Belgium beers before we left. I bought this Trappist beer which had 10% alcohol. That's crazy right! 10% alcohol in a beer, that's like wine already.
Exiting Brussels was tough, there was a lot of traffic and it took us 45 minutes to get out. Michelle drove 4 hours home to Otterberg. Even though the GPS said 3 hours, it took 4 hours to get home because of traffic.
