Lourve Museum

February 16, 2020

Portrayed in many movies, like the Da Vinci Code. The Lourve is world famous represented by the pyramid shape entrance. It also houses the Mona Lisa, a painting considered 'priceless'. For those reasons, it is enough to take a day trip.

Jared seemed the most interested in going, but then the morning before going, he changed his mind. I'm not sure why the decision, but teenage boys make weird choices. It took about 1 hour from our hotel at Aulnay Sous Bois to the Lourve Museum. We caught the RER Blue which led us to Chatelet. From there, we walked to the Lourve Museum.

Michelle bought tickets the night before for only $40. What a deal right? The lines were short. Did you know the entrance was thru the pyramid? For some reason I didn't know that. We had to wait for about 20 minutes. It was a cool 45 degrees outside. I can't imagine how it is in the summer. Must be freakin' hot. After our bags were checked in, we headed straight to the entrance.

This place is huge. First thing we wanted to see was the Mona Lisa. Malia went ahead and we lost her for a short time. This drove Michelle nuts. Michelle and Jared went to look for Malia while I waited in line to view the Mona Lisa close up. I only had to wait for about 20 minutes to get to the front.

After seeing the Mona Lisa, we went to see other famous paintings like Liberty Leading the French, Napoleon's Coronation, and The Raft of Medusa. There's also famous statues like Winged Victory of Samothrace and Venus de Milo (which for some reason we didn't get to see).

It was a cool experience, one that I can remember for the rest of my life. There was so much stuff and we couldn't get through all of them, you seriously would need a nap and then go back. It was just too much at once. We left the Lourve satisfied. I would go back again, but not sure if we will. February is a great time to go to the Lourve. The crowds are small. You get time to do what you want to do.
