Kawaii Kon 2016

Kawaii Kon - April 9, 2016

Malia is all into this anime thing. She's been into it for a few years now. This was her first opportunity to experience this event in reality.

I never undestood anime, something about fantasy that makes people like it.

Malia's friend Tawny was going to join her. You could feel the excitement. I never seen Malia this excited in a while. The days leading up to the event was all she could talk about it.

Tawny came to the house at about 9:00am. From here, we drove to the convention center. Quincy got us tickets and said it was at will call. However, when we got there, no one knew what will call was. Doesn't help the event is run by young people. Will call is so out of date. I asked about a dozen people. I even talked to the assistant director to see if there were tickets on hold, he didn't know. I shelled out the $120 for the admission fee.

Malia wanted money so I gave her $80 to spend. It was only like 30 minutes when she came up to me as said she was broke. I told her what the hell she bought. She showed me what looked like a bunch of garbage, but I guess to her was really important.

I met up with Marvin who was taking photos for the event. He gets hired to take pictures. We tried to catch up on everything, but it was difficult because we had so much catching up to do.

Marvin assignment was at 12p, so he went to the fashion show while I ate lunch. The only thing on the second floor was ramen $9.25, so expensive. It was pretty good. I also went to the Hapalua Half Marathon exhibit. I wanted the visor from last year, but this year's logo was shitty. I left.

I gave Malia another $20 and cruised with Marvin for another hour before Malia and her friend Tawny were broke. We left. I paid $10 for parking. All in all, I know one thing, Malia better save up for this thing. Its so fricken expensive. I dropped about $300 today.

We drove to the Old Spaghetti Factory to get pasta. I was so full after eating the ramen and the pasta. Carb overload. Too bad I wasn't running the Hapalua tomorrow, this carb overload would have helped.
