Game 4
July 28
Yankees vs. Red Sox Game 4
As uncomfortable as it sounds, and uncomfortable as it felt, game 4 seats was in right field behind the historic and Boston's famous Pesky's Pole. You non baseball buffs probably don't know that Johnny Pesky was a great hitter .307 career average and had many seasons with over 200 hits. He didn't have power though which is why the Pole is named after him. The right field pole is the shortest home run in the entire Major Leagues at only 302 feet. That's like hitting a home run out of Noholoa in Mililani.
The seats behind the pole were very uncomfortable, we had to sit and turn to the left to see the field. Behind us was the tunnel and concession stands and in front of us was the big screen. It had its benefits.
The Yankees controlled the game early and did not give up the lead. The Red Sox kept on coming back, but it wasn't enough, they didn't have it on this day. My dad kept on complaining that Chris Sale didn't have it in him today. Although I didn't think he pitched that bad, he continued to give runs. The Red Sox weren't out of the game, but had a wall to climb, a climb they could never get over.
The Red Sox lost the last game, but at least my dad say 3 wins. I think that made him happy. The team did produce a good product during the 4 game series against the rival Yankees. My dad left Boston content and satisfied. This experience will stick with him forever. I assure you.
